An Acceptable Arrangement  by  Jeanne Savery

Will a false engagement lead to true love?

-- SEARCHING FOR THE PERFECT MATES...

At twenty-four, Miss Phillida Morgan is comfortable in her spinsterhood. Yet if she must wed, she intends to choose well. Alas, most of the ton's candidates are bores, poseurs, or both. So Phillida enlists her abigail's assistance, for who better to gauge a man's character than his servants? But her strategy flies out the window when she encounters handsome Lucas Strathedene, a legendary rake who is definitely not marriage material. If only he weren't possessed of a delicious wit. If only she could remain sensible and rein in her runaway heart....

...THEY WOULD DISCOVER A PERFECT LOVE

Never has Lucas been so entertained... or piqued. For he and the enchanting Miss Morgan have only just met, when she informs him that she will not consider him when looking for a husband. Of course, she has no idea that he is in the market for a wife, that in fact, he has his butler searching for the paragon. Still there are damn few women who'd reject him so handily. It is the beginning of a most unusual friendship. And when both find overbearing relatives breathing down their necks, Lucas proposes a sham engagement... never realizing he'll soon be wishing it were anything but pretend....

The Widow and the Rake

The Widow and the Rake  by Jeanne Savery

LOVE LOST'

Five years had passed, but Pierce Reston, Duke of `Stornway, remembered the humiliation and heartache only too well. Despite his ardent courtship, Lady Joanna Ransome had escaped his tender trap, jilted him, and married a soldier! Now her husband had just been lost in battle, and the beguiling widow was once more at liberty. This time, Pierce vowed, no rival would ever come between them. For their love was meant to be...whether the lovely Joanna realized it yet or not!

LOVE REGAINED

Lady Jo never expected to see Pierce again. The dark and dashing duke was as devilishly attractive as ever, yet she knew she daren't trust him. After all, hadn't the rogue nearly single-handedly sabotaged her first trip to the altar? And here he was, pursuing her all over again! Jo vowed to avoid him at all costs, but she could scarcely resist the attraction that flared between them...nor could she deny the yearning of her own heart. For when it came to love, the second time was, truly, a charm!

A Reformed Rake

A Reformed Rake  by Jeanne Savery

SCANDAL'S DARLING

Never one to resist an adventure, governess Harriet Cole was only too delighted to help her young charge flee France - and the designs of a despicable suitor. But more trouble soon arrived in the person of Sir Frederick Carrington, London's most notorious rake...a man Harriet remembered none too fondly from her short-lived season just a few years before. And the seductive scoundrel would insist on providing safe escort - all the way back to England!

Though she deemed him far more dangerous than any band of brigands, Harriet secretly relished matching wits with the devilishly handsome nobleman. Then Sir Frederick took her in his arms for a tender kiss that revealed his character in a whole new light. Now, as intrigue ensnared them in its web, Harriet found herself caught in a passion's sensual spell. Could a lady find love with an incorrigible but irresistible rogue?

Jeanne Savery

Jeanne Savery has lived and travelled in Great Britain with her spouse, an American Professor of British Politics. An American herself, she is descended from the English (via her father) and the Scots (via her mother).

She first read the Regency Romances of Georgette Heyer while living in Sidcup, Kent. She reread them while living in Whitstable, Kent. The dialogue was charming, but the detail was forbidding: No mistakes! That's the watchword.

For library research, she amassed (and read) a library of diaries, letters, memoirs, yearbooks, etc., from the era. For field research, she (and her spouse) repeatedly crisscrossed the island of Great Britain. Their two daughters fondly recall a family jaunt (with bed and breakfast) in August, 1973: London to Pembroke to Chester to Carlisle to Stirling to Edinburgh to Hawick ... to London.

She published her first Regency Romance in 1991. Since then, she has published more numerous novels and novellas.

She has received the Reader's Choice Award and been awarded the Holt Medallion. She is a member of Novelists, Inc. and Romance Writers of America.
