MY REVIEW:  "Getting to Good: A Guided Journal"--by Elena Welsh PhD--offers encouragement on every page. There are suggestions for progress, but there is plenty of freedom for self-expression and self-learning. Gentle nudges toward positivity include inspiring quotes, writing exercises that focus your attention on the better, more pleasant aspects of your life, and the space to express your inner musings. Writing down what's going on in your mind, and then rereading your own words can have an amazingly cathartic effect on your thought processes. It also allows you to "meet yourself"--you might find a new friend--you! Don't be overwhelmed by the bad--"get to the good".
