MY REVIEW: In "The 30-Minute Ayurvedic Cookbook: Healing Recipes for Total Wellness", Ayurveda is described as "the traditional system of medicine from India--based on the concept of balancing your body to achieve total wellness". Author Danielle Martin, an Ayurvedic Herbalist and Practitioner, has put together a collection of over 90 optimal-health recipes that can be prepared in a half-hour or less. She also shares that, through her personal experiences with Yoga and Ayurveda, she has learned to heal herself as well as help others to heal--this includes physical healing, as well as focusing on mental, emotional, and spiritual wellness. As always, before changing your diet and lifestyle for health reasons, consult with your primary healthcare provider to see what works best for you. The book is divided into two main parts : Part 1 "Ayurveda and You", and Part 2 "Recipes for Healing, Health, and Wellness". Here are some of the recipes you;ll find: "Digestion Tonic"; "Detox Tonic"; "Antioxidant Energy Smoothie"; "Chocolate Banana Date Shake"; "Carrot Cake Oatmeal"; "Springtime Breakfast Scramble"; "Coconut Curry Hummus"; "Spiced Apples and Ghee"; "Spicy Sesame Rice"; "Colorful Quinoa Salad"; "Spicy Red Lentil Dal"; "Curried Black-Eyed Peas and Greens"; "Winter-Spiced Rice Pudding"; "Irresistible Carrot Cake Muffins"; "Morning Energy Mix"; and "Spicy Stir-Fry Sauce". In addition to the recipes, you will also find healthful hints, tasty tidbits, and resource listings and websites for further information.
