MY REVIEW:  Author Carol Ericson begins her "Holding the Line Series" with the fast-paced romantic thriller, "Evasive Action". After two years, border patrol agent Clay Archer still feels the sting of being dumped by his fiancée with no real explanation. Now, April Hart has suddenly reappeared in his life, dressed in full bridal regalia, on the run after jilting fiancé number two, Jimmy Verdugo. after discovering his involvement in illegal drugs. Investigating a drug cartel case where there are bodies without heads and heads without bodies, the last thing Clay needs is to have his mind and his heart messed with by the woman he still loves and can't resist. April had good reasons for leaving Clay, and even though he holds the key to her heart, she still keeps secrets in order to keep him safe. Her own father has been off the grid for years--hiding from authorities as the prime suspect in her mother's death, he's also rumored to be a large-scale drug seller. Adam, April's troubled, unreliable brother, has a drug habit and is connected to Jimmy Verdugo. April has always had a soft spot for her brother, overlooking his faults and always coming to his rescue. Clay has long thought Adam to be a loose cannon, and as threats continue to come to light, Adam seems to be one of the biggest dangers to April. With time spent together working to solve the many mysteries around them, Clay and April can't deny their want and need of each other. If they survive, can their love for each other finally have a chance to bloom and grow into a bright and happy future? Author Carol Ericson definitely has a way with romantic suspense tales, and the relationship in "Evasive Action" is one of my favorites that she has written. I am really looking forward to reading the upcoming books in the "Holding the Line Series".

MY REVIEW: In "Chain of Custody", Book Two in author Carol Ericson's "Holding the Line Series", border patrol agent Nash Dillon suddenly finds himself as the caretaker of an adorable baby boy while he's also caring for a friend's dog, managing his family's pecan groves, and investigating dangerous drug traffickers. When a beautiful red-headed, green-eyed nanny appears in Paradiso, AZ, at just at the right time, Nash breathes a sigh of relief. Former law officer Emily O'Brien is starting life over as a private investigator. Hired to track baby Wyatt and keep an eye on his mother, Emily poses as a nanny in order to stay close to Wyatt. Jaycee Lemoin, a childhood friend of Nash's younger sister, had left her baby in Nash's care--not the first time he had helped out in a tine of need. Marcus Lanier, who claimed to be Wyatt's father, was a married, big-time businessman from Phoenix, and he had hired Emily to help him gain information against Jaycee for a planned custody battle. Another player in the game is Brett Fillmore, Jaycee's most recent boyfriend--and no stranger to the criminal element--just how does he fit into the overall picture? The attraction between Nash and Emily grows stronger as they spend time together and bond over baby Wyatt--but where is his mother? Just as Nash discovers Emily's true identity, the situation turns from perplexing to perilous, and the two of them must use all of their law enforcement skills to protect the precious child--and each other. If they survive, is there a happy future ahead? I am really enjoying the "Holding the Line Series" from author Carol Ericson--this lady can really write romantic suspense--her involving story lines and well-developed characters will keep readers turning the pages.

MY REVIEW: Author Carol Ericson continues her exciting "Holding the Line" series with Book Three, "Unraveling Jane Doe". The heat continues to rise in the little border town of Paradiso, Arizona--drug cartels are becoming bolder and more deadly in plying their heinous trade. When border patrol agent Rob Valdez spots the smoking wreckage of a burned-out car, he is startled to find a confused and injured knife-wielding woman who refuses medical aid. Impulsive by nature, Rob's protective instincts kick in, and he takes "Jane Doe"--who has memory loss from her injuries--to his own home to offer assistance. Rob and Jane, both shaken by their dramatic encounter, are wary of each other, and each of them tries to gauge how far they can trust one another. This story really kicks off when truths began to be revealed, and the depth of the danger of the situation becomes clear. Jane's real identity is Libby James, an art dealer from Mexico who is being hunted by El Gringo Viejo, a villainous drug supplier. As Rob and Libby work to find all the clues to the perilous puzzle, the friendship and attraction between continues to grow stronger. If they both survive the jeopardy they face, will their relationship bloom into something with a bright and loving future? Congratulations to author Carol Ericson--"Unraveling Jane Doe" is her 50th book for Harlequin. "Holding the Line" is a terrific romantic suspense series from a skilled storyteller.

MY REVIEW:   Author Carol Ericson brings her terrific romantic suspense series "Holding the Line" to an exciting conclusion with Book Four, "Buried Secrets". In the desert around the border town of Paradiso, Arizona, an ancient culture and a modern-day crime syndicate both want control of the territory to serve their own purposes. Jolene Nighthawk is a ranger for the National Park Service and a member of the Yaqui Tribe. She plans to bring to a halt the construction of a gambling casino on Yaqui land. Jolene also hopes to find out what really happened to her father, who lost his life on that land. Border Patrol agent Sam Cross, divorced and father of a young daughter, has just returned to Paradiso after a couple of years in San Diego. He and Jolene had a difficult personal history, but Sam had hopes of making things right between them. When Sam realizes that Jolene planted bones in a fake grave to bring the groundbreaking for the casino to a halt, he makes a deal with her to keep it a secret while he works on a missing persons case. If they keep each other's confidences, and work together, they may both find what they have been looking for--in life, and maybe in love. The feelings they once had for one another are stronger than ever, but there are many issues--and dangers--for them to overcome. All the while, the notorious master criminal El Gringo Viejo is still running his drug empire--will he finally be toppled from his throne? If Jolene and Sam survive the threats all around, can they put the heartaches of the past behind them and hope for a happy future together? I have really enjoyed the "Holding the Line Series", and I highly recommend all four books for lovers of action-packed, thrilling romantic suspense.
