MY REVIEW:  "Modern Calligraphy for Kids: A Step-by-Step Guide and Workbook for Lettering Fun", from author, painter, and professional calligrapher Sally Sanders, is truly a treat for those who long to add elegance and dramatic flair to their ability to put pen to paper. The book is targeted toward "kids from 9 to 14", but anyone of any age with an interest in calligraphy will greatly enjoy this book. There are three basic forms of lettering: "Serif"; "Sans Serif"; and "Script", and three basic types of calligraphy: "Pointed Brush"; "Monoline"; and "Classic". Included here are: practice pages with a link to download and print off more practice pages; materials guides; and suggestions on how to create special projects for very special occasions. Of course, you may just want to dress up a quick note to a good friend--or it could be that you want to share your heart and soul with a loved one in a one-of-a-kind love letter written just for them. The only limit is your own creativity when dreaming up unique works of art and designs for items like T-shirts, invitations, mugs, cards, menus, and signs.
