Megan Fortune is there to pick up the pieces—and to act as his faux girlfriend when his ex shows up. Mark swears he will never get involved again. Megan doesn’t want to be a “rebound” fling. But they find each other irresistible. What’s a fake couple to do?

MY REVIEW:  Author Lynne Marshall lends her considerable storytelling skills to Harlequin's popular, long-running "Fortunes of Texas Series" with "Runaway Groom", an involving and entertaining contemporary romance. On the eve of his wedding, Mark Mendoza is celebrating with his brothers and contemplating his future with the woman he chose to be his wife. At age thirty-five, he was marrying for "like", not "love", and his fiancee, Brianna, was in sync with his plans to soon start a family. Reality crashes his well-made plans when he catches Brianna before their wedding ceremony kissing another man while wearing her wedding dress. Stunned, Mark flees the scene and heads to the luxury hotel where his brother Rodrigo works. Rodrigo had been the holdout of the Mendoza brothers when it came to Mark's wedding--he even refused to attend. Now, Mark was seeking his brother's support. It's not Rodrigo who comforts him first--it's Megan Fortune of the wealthy Hotel Fortune family. The Fortunes and the wine-making Mendoza family are already connected--Rodrigo is engaged to Megan's sister Ashley. Mark and Megan enjoy each other's company, and when Brianna unexpectedly shows up at the hotel, they pretend to be a newly-matched couple to give Brianna a dose of her own medicine. What begins with a spark of mischief soon kindles a spark of another kind--and hearts are suddenly on the line. Mark and Megan both have personal issues to overcome--can they find their way past pretense into a loving and happy future together? The Fortunes and the Mendoza are two large, life-loving families with captivating characters and compelling story lines. Author Lynne Marshall has brought them together memorably in "Runaway Groom". Readers who enjoyed this story will love other contemporary romances from this very talented storyteller.

LYNNE MARSHALL

Lynne Marshall

USA Today Bestselling author, Lynne Marshall, used to worry she had a serious problem with daydreaming. Then she discovered she was supposed to write the stories in her head. A late bloomer, Lynne came to fiction writing after her children were nearly grown. Now she battles the empty nest by writing stories which always include a romance, sometimes medicine, a dose of mirth, or both, but always stories from her heart. She is a Southern California native, married to a New Englander for a long, long time, has two adult children she loves dearly, and three amazing grandchildren she adores. She is also a dog lover, a cat admirer, a meandering walker, and an optimistic traveler on this wild journey called life!

She believes it's never too late to fall in love, and enjoys writing not only about young romance, but more mature romance as well. Lynne heartily believes in Life, Love, and the Pursuit...
