Thrown together as unlikely and unexpected travel partners, their trip is filled with both dramatic and humorous situations along the road. But, with God's constant hand in their journey, Justin and Cameron may just discover that you can go home again--especially at Christmastime.
MY REVIEW: I really enjoyed "Almost Home for the Holidays"--it's a contemporary holiday romance that definitely has its heart-tugging moments, but it made me laugh out loud and lifted my spirits. Author Carla Rossi set a page-turning pace for this story, and I read it all in one sitting. Detective Justin Hatcher is about to tackle his toughest case yet--traveling from North Carolina back to his Cardinal Point, Texas homeplace to resolve old hurts and come face-to-face with the family he hasn't seen in five years. He hadn't expected to have a passenger along for the ride, but when a tearful young lady misses her bus and pleads with him for a ride, he can't say "no". Cameron McAlister feels the need to leave North Carolina behind when she learns her unstable ex-husband is being released from jail, and she hopes for a new start in Texas. A person of faith, Cameron senses that Justin is a good man--even if he acts like a grinch. Cameron is talkative--and quite inquisitive--and little by little, she and Justin get to know more about each other as Justin's truck eats up miles and miles of road. Their trip is filled with numerous unexpected twists and turns, including a growing sparks-fly attraction. The differences between them only make them more appealing to each other, but they both have many personal issues to overcome. As Cameron gains self-confidence, Justin's heart begins to thaw, and they each experience spiritual growth. Can love find a way to bring them together with hopes for a bright and shining future? If you are looking for a "feel good" inspirational holiday romance. then I highly recommend "Almost Home for the Holidays".
