Collateral Damage
Honorably discharged
from the Army after an explosion nearly killed her, former military
psychiatrist Brooke Adams has set up shop to help others—but her days of
helping military personnel are over. She's got her own battles to fight
from her time overseas, and she's not equipped to take on more. Former
Army Special Ops Sergeant First Class Asher James could handle anything
that war sent his way—terrorists, bombs, bullets. The only thing that
scares him now is sleep. As the shadows close in, the nightmares begin.
Finally
convinced that he needs help, Asher makes an appointment with a
counselor, and Brooke is pressed by her boss to take him on. When he
arrives at her office she isn't there—but a dead body is. Brooke is
devastated when she walks in, and Asher is a conveniently strong
shoulder to cry on. But she can't take him on as a client after sharing
such an intimate and unprofessional moment, can she? And he's not sure
he can handle sharing his deepest fears with such a beautiful woman.
When
it becomes clear that Brooke was the real target of the attack—and that
her secrets go even deeper than his own—Asher vows to protect her no
matter what

MY REVIEW: "Acceptable Risk" is
Book Two in author Lynette Eason's thrilling inspirational romantic
suspense series, "Danger Never Sleeps". Sarah Denning is a military
journalist serving as a guest instructor at a school in the Middle East.
When terrorists capture her and a young teacher and twelve female
students, the situation is grim, and there is only a slim chance of
survival. Sarah's father, a high-ranking member of the US Army, calls in
Gavin Black, a former Army Ranger now working as a private security
agent, to rescue Sarah and the girls. Sarah is painfully estranged from
her father, and she and Gavin once briefly dated--now she is stunned to
have been saved by the actions of these two men working together. Just
as they prepare to return stateside, they receive the devastating news
that Sarah's younger brother, who had been suffering from PTSD, has
committed suicide. Sarah doesn't believe that her brother took his own
life, and when she and Gavin begin their own investigation, they
discover other similar cases of supposed suicide. Working side-by-side

MY REVIEW: Author Lynette Eason concludes her riveting, contemporary inspirational romantic suspense "Danger Never Sleeps Series" with Book Four, "Hostile Intent". After a decade spent in military service, during which time her father died, Ava Jackson returns to civilian life to care for her ailing mother. When Ava is attacked after visiting her mother in the nursing home, an old friend, Caden Denning, comes to her aid. Caden, the brother of Ava's best friend Sarah, is an FBI Special Agent, and a case he's working on has links to Ava and her father. To the world at large, Paul Jackson was a travel reporter, but to a select, deadly group of elite undercover spies, he was a highly-skilled CIA operative. Ava, prized by her father for her intelligence and her own intuitive abilities, was very close to her father, and she came to her own conclusion that he worked for the CIA. She was the one person in his life who had his ultimate trust. After his mysterious death, she must follow the instructions and clues that he left behind, and she and Caden work together to so solve the grisly series of murders which all somehow link back to Paul Jackson. Longtime acquaintances and part of a circle of friends who grew up together and shared many memories, Ava and Caden had been unaware that they each had a crush on one another. Now, spending so much time together and having to rely on each other, friendship and attraction are merging into something more personal and powerful--could it be love? If they can solve the gruesome serial killings and bring the mastermind to justice, will the way be cleared for a bright and happy future? "Hostile Intent" is a terrific finale to a great series, which I highly recommend for lovers of thrilling, well-written, inspirational contemporary romantic suspense.
